St Mary’s Parish Churchyard

The Churchyard is a restful place where some parts are being rewilded. The Church welcomes anyone to visit and take a moment to reflect, pray, or chat as feels right. St Mary’s Church can be contacted to discuss the interment of ashes in the Churchyard.

Chard Town Council maintains the closed churchyard at St Mary’s Parish Church. A churchyard is normally closed when it has no usable space for new graves. The responsibilities of the Council include the upkeep of the railings, maintenance of the paths and conservation of the town’s War Memorial.
