I am a member of the Purbeck u3a creative writing group and have published various books. My most recent publication is a historical novel, “Champagne in a Broken Teacup”, which was inspired by the activities of my French aunt who was a document forger with the French resistance during World War 2. Prior to writing the novel I undertook extensive research into the events of the period and the German occupation of France in order to weave these factors into the story to provide a living background for the plot. I have prepared a fully illustrated talk which includes readings from the novel, an illustrated presentation of my research approach and some of the fascinating facts I discovered during my research. At the end of the talk I have a small handout for the audience.
